Programs of Study at COM-FSM
Degree Programs
Associate degrees are awarded to students who complete a two-year program of study. Many students need to complete preparatory classes before beginning the degree program, thereby extending the total length of college study.

A pre-nursing preparation program is also available for students who wish to do basic work before transferring to another institution. This is usually undertaken in conjunction with the associate of arts in liberal arts.
Certificate Programs
Certificates of achievement are awarded to students who complete a one-year program of study.
Third-year certificates of achievement are offered in:
- Elementary Education
- Special Education
- Educational Leadership Academy
- Related Services Assistant
Certificates of achievement are also offered in the following areas:
- Bookkeeping
- Community Health Services-Health Assistant
- Community Health Services-Assistant Medical Officers
- General Studies
- Preschool Teacher Education
- Trial Counselors
- Vocational Education Programs
Short-term programs at the State Campuses are offered in response to expressed local needs. Certificates of completion, attendance or participation are awarded depending on the length and nature of the program
Vocational Education Programs
The State Campuses are in various stages of developing and implementing vocational education programs, mainly trade training programs. Currently programs are at certificate level only. Entrants are not required to pass the college entrance test.
